started the class yesterday, man i was excited:biggrin2:
I really like this teacher, she wants us to make this fun for the dogs an teach in a more positive way.
She really really hates the leash, says it gets in the way, we'll be working w/o the leash in 3 weeks

Bandit seems to be a ahead in his class already:cool:
I just gotta work more on my footwork on alot of the moves

I liked how she said that its "dancing with your dogs" its choreography
never was good at any choreography but this seems alot easier :)

What a great way to start your new classes. The fact that you've found an instructor who uses positive reinforcement training is terrific for both you and Bandit. I'll bet that you and Bandit will be dancing in step before you know it.:biggrin2:

So glad to hear you're enjoying it!! You'll soon find it the highlight of your week! I know I do! Our trainer works with all positive reinforcement as well, and I swear by the method, and the way she does it. She doesn't allow chock chains of any sort(yes, even martingales) in her class, whatsoever, which I love. Caliber and I are in Level 2, and I believe next week is when she is having us remove the leash. I wish we could have done it in level one, because it really does get in the way, but...we've managed. Once you get a few more weeks in you'll have to share a few way of how she's teaching you how to do things! I'd like to know how others do it as well, and see if it's much different then what I've been taught!! Good luck to you and Bandit! Hope to hear more good stories!!

Good for y'all! I hope you keep enjoying it! Do you plan any other training (agility, flyball, etc)?

I dont really know what flyball is,
I've always wanted to do agility, i believe bandit is built for agility, he's got the legs for it.

Me and bandit got to watch a border collie go through all the obstacles in the agility and bandit wanted run out there right with him:biggrin2:

so far he's learning to go into the heal position w/o a leash, im using one of those small stinky "train me treats" to carry him over to the heal position. and i give oodles of praise, and than i wanted to see if he'd do it w/o a treat an just repsond on the hand signal and command...it worked :) But every now an than he'll sit too far back or a lil too far out or be sitting perpendicular to me.

and for fun i just wanted to see if he'd walk right beside me and do automatic sits, and he did them perfectly:biggrin2:
but he didnt alway stay in heal position, but thats ok were not there yet.

I found out that obedience class was really for me! I learned so much about proper handling. :smile2:
