Stomach trim

Looks like I'll be cutting Honeys stomach fur down again this year. Despite the stronger vector flea meds shes still picking up some. Picked one off her last night and tonight, and shes red from biting again.

We have soapless shampoo for sensitive skin, but I'm afraid of washing off what good the flea medication is doing. And at least with her fur trimmed down its easier to get lotion on where it itches (an almost impossible job with the fur), it keeps her cooler, and it keeps her from tearing fur out when she is biting and scratching.

I hate doing it though, shes so cute when that furs long, and it took until late winter to get a good length back last year. Still, I can't factor looks higher than her comfort.

Oh! I'll miss her fluffy tummy so much!

Hmm, just read that cedar chips help deter fleas...maybe I'll try picking some up and making her a.bed to lay on with them and sprinkling them over the ground.

Its been so wet and humid...the bugs are extra baf this year.

The bugs are horrible, and I think the rain is driving them out of the ground.
I keep taking the spider webs off my patio, ready for Halloween. I haven't
had trouble with fleas yet. They are a nuisance.

I know this is greasy but it works. Avon Skin So Soft kills fleas. We sprayed
my DIL's dog who had a bad case and it cured him in one day. You can wash
it out right away. Then she steamed her rugs too, and that did em in.

bug infested is right!

we were/are having lots of rain, and normally our arid climate deters lots of bugs, but NOT this year. Mosquitos are plentiful, and we have biting flies which I detest because those bites are so painful for me (I discovered they don't like geraniums, so rubbing the leaves on me has STOPPED them from eating me alive this year. Skin so soft is good as a repellent, but I am not fond of the greasiness of it. The flies are bothering the girls, just being annoying, can't see any biting, and so on our walks at dusk, I have been rubbing a bit of the geranium leaf goo on their ears, the flying insects stop buzzing around their lil heads. We walk just as the sun goes down, because it is cooler for the girls, but that is dinner time for bugs they are out in full force attacking anything that breathes.
