WE had a little fun day on Saturday at the club. Here is a short video of Storms first run with Cindy, as her handler on an actual course. Both did pretty good, they had one wrong jump and she stopped on the last weave pole , but not bad as that was the first time she had seen more then 6 poles.
Considering she has had only One official agility class I think she doing just awesome.

Yes it was a fun day Ashley considering that we have had wind & rain for almost a week now it was nice to get out with them, they thought so too I am sure.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for now. I think she has great potential if she get taught proper control, She Runs
much quicker with me but seems to listen better to Cindy and slows up more with her probably a big plus right now. With Me She listens OK but she gets going so quick as I run a lot faster then Cyn that she start to get a bit crazy and, I can't react in time to call her off something or she will run by an obstical as I am trying to play catch up to her. I am hoping that by training with Cindy she will ease off just a bit till she get some control going, then hopfully We can cut her loose and let her rip. It definately is not like running
Cosmo.

Might I make the recommendation to not rein her in too much?

I think it is very difficult to teach speed to a dog who has learned to stay slow with the handler. I think it's better to struggle teaching control because that comes with maturity.

Not that you are doing anything wrong--I would just make sure that you couple all these handler focus type sequences with ones where Storm can just let 'er rip, and go as fast as she can. If you can't keep up (we usually can't since they have 4 legs and we only have 2), use a target plate or throw a toy ahead.

OH I will definately be watching out for that, as I sure don't want to slow her down any if I can help it. I still let her run like the wind with me no holes barred. At Class last night with Cyn I saw a big improvement over even saturdays fun class. She showed much better focus and the speed was better she had Cyn huffing & puffing and red in the face by the end of the sequence.

We talked about it after class on the way home and I think next week I am going to run her instead to she how she reacts to the handler switch.
