Storm phobia

My Sadie is terrified of thunderstorms. She literally tries to climb the walls. I have tried distraction, putting her in her crate:, other background noise, herbal remedies, acepromazine from the vet, etc. Nothing really works. I feel so bad for her.
Are your dogs phobic about thunderstorms?
What works for you?:confused2:

If you check the thread in this category, Dealing with Noise Anxiety, you can see what other Forum members have suggested for this problem. Good luck!

I feel for you. This week we had a thunder storm directly overhead and I couldn't make it home in time to bring the dogs in (and my neighbour was not home to check on them either). Deska ripped up most of my garden and the lawn with his panicked running - and then brought it all inside where there are circles of mud from his spinning and barking on the carpet and couch. He is still jumpy. Anyway, have a fridge full of lamb shanks now (for distractions) and will be checking the weather more closely so I am ready next time. Unfortunately it is one of those things I have found there is no cure, it just has to be managed. I think I posted a few ideas I use on the thread Ann mentioned.
