Well we did it, and it wasn't pretty, actually for saying she was only 2 days over her 18 month birthday and she had never run on dirt before , I am really really happy, she held her start line great and started great right till we got to the weaves, then she missed the entry and both dog and handler lost there respective brains I tried to feed her in 12 times,after the 3rd time she was playing a game with me, after the run was over talking to my trainer she said I should have just tried twice and then kept going and taken the time fault but this was my first ever steeplechase run as well so I didn't know about the scoring , My wife got so frustrated that she shut the video camera off. But for her first trial I am all grinns as we were out for fun anyway's.

Positives:
she had a good start, she hit her contacts on the A frame both times, she only knocked down 1 bar and that was after the weave pole fiascal ( for saying she has only been jumping a 16 " for 6 weeks and all on grass I was happy about that. the dirt was very soft and loose ) after the weave poles and the one downed bar she did finish the course without further problems.
The out sequence was 5 roughly straight line jumps and she flew down the line and out on her own, woo hoo. we did finish the course and handler learned a lot , it was really different for me and I was actually quite nervous moreso then normal under the watchfull eyes of all the skilled compeditors and I had never been at an event this large . Both dog and handler had a good day, she stayed pretty calm considering all the hub bub much cooler the the handler LOL, and she didn't run off course or out of the ring like a couple of other more experienced dogs did :yes: from the course start to the weaves just over halfway we were 22 seconds so not to bad on the speed front.

Negatives;
None really when I got home she ran through my weaves 6 times flawlessly of course from both sides go figure AUUG, but you can bet we will be hitting weave entry at practice tomorrow morning. the exposure to the regionals was good for both of us, I won"t be as nervous next time and she handled it like she had been doing it for years.

anyway hers some pics and what video we got before cyn shut it off before the run was finished:dead: Enjoy and don't laugh too hard.

Thanks all
I wish cyn had got the rest of the run on video, because the end was as good as the start and I loved her out sequence finish she was a rocket down the out jump line.

I Set up the same course at practice today the first 2 time she hit and blew right thru the weaves perfect then she had 3 or 4 episodes like yesterday missing the entry and skipping a weave :confused2:, but we will keep working on it with Sarah and I am sure we will get it sorted out. I am sure Sarah will have lots for me on Monday she gave me about a 5 minute workover after the run about what she liked and what she didn't like about how I ran her, funny she never mentioned the Dog :wink2:

Aside from practice & class I don't plan on doing anything else with her trial wise till late august or mid sept and Cosmo Is on a extreme diet/exercise plan, he has lost 1 lb in the last 3 weeks but he needs to loose 4 more .
