Yes, you are right the nip was when I was trying to redirect her growling and frantic behavior over the hose. I have since covered up the hose with a board and she acts as if it never happened when she goes outside.
My 16 year old son has put her on her back until she calms several times today for going ballistic just because someone entered the room she is in. We are working in shifts to try to retrain the bahavior but I am not sure what to expect or if she will have to live dragging a leash behind her (when someone is with her) so we can train her. I am very glad she knows sit, stay, down. Those come in handy. Frustrating to say the least.
This is supposed to be the healthy, bonding, mind melding stage that you look back on fondly when they get so old they are very labor intensive and expensive. Just makes me sad. Oh well, cope and hope. Any suggestions for how to respond when they get wild? She also can be very loving, docile, and obedient.
