sugar in pet food!

I just watched a video on youtube this morning that shocked me! It was called The Unknown Sugar In Your Pet Food.

I didn't realize how much sugar, aka, carbs was in their food since it is not listed. It was shocking to see that beniful had less sugar in it (43% ) than grain free food. Blue buffalo sweet potato and bison had 56% :wideyed:

I know the body needs carbs for energy but those numbers seem pretty high to me, and like Dr. Karen Becker states it is the reason so many dogs have health problems. Looks like I need to do some more research on my dogs food. I just wish I could afford to feed them all a raw diet. :(

Hi, I know what you mean! I had a pyr who was allergic to commercial food! It didn't matter what dog food we fed him it just came out all wrong! They know that what they feed out dogs is poison but refuse to change. Even the expensive brands.

But you can find wet food that isn't as expensive as raw food. Try and find a local brand, that's pure meat. Carrots and sweet potatoes/yams are not good for dogs and they are just cheap filler and good marketing for humans. Good luck!
