Susan Garrett e-class on recall

I haven't tried that yet. But I have been following the program and I must say that both of mine are coming along so well I cannot believe it. I even had them sit the other day, OFF leash at the off leash park when they heard a squirrel AND they both held their sits and came when called! And squirrels are a #10 distraction. I cannot wait for tomorrow's distraction webinar. Last week's webinar was excellent. Plus, I have seen that both of mine are so much more focused on me and eager to do things, anything with me. This course has definitely brought us closer together. I'm really enjoying the course so far. I am going away for a week, so will not be able to keep up, but plan on catchin up when I get back.

How are all of you that are taking the course liking it?

We love it! I've seen a definite improvement in Romeo with the games!!! (I feel like I've typed this before but I can't recall where - HAH! My "recall" is bad.) We were at a dog run and Romeo actually CAME when CALLED! This is a dog run we hadn't been to in ages! And I don't mean 2 feet away! This is the boy who would give me the finger by looking at me then walk off even within spitting distance. Even his trainer, who was there, was surprised - she went, and I quote "WOW!" It was a sheltie gathering so there were 16 other shelties + other breeds milling around. I WAS SO PROUD. AND on top of that, Romeo came to me constantly to check up. He did it his own way of course, not enthusiastically running up to me, just sauntered over, BUT OFTEN! I was ecstatic!

Juliet has always been very good with her recall so I can't tell with that. She's also always looking at me waiting for me to do something, so can't tell with that either. LOL! She's the total opposite of Romeo. My goal with her is to maintain that and get her tugging outdoors! I'm just hoping all the games will help her drive when we do agility when she's old enough!

I can play the PB&J game with them outdoors - they love it when I do it out of the blue while walking them on long leashes at the park, and their attention is then riveted on me! They will also play PB&J at the dog run with dogs around too! I don't have to struggle to get their attention like I used to.

This course is worth every penny. I'm just sad that I couldn't make the last two calls. I'm gonna try to do the webinar coming up since I'll be awake by then!

Well worth spending money, great info and I could see results even if we are way behind in the program. Crate games is the big challenge yet, we making progress but not as fast as we would normally. I am glad I signed for advanced course and will have 4 more months to practice, because training the game is not a problem, reinforcing is time consuming.
I am able to get Che to pay attention to me in the pooch park, his level 10 distraction and getting Che to leave the park became a snap/ before we were literally catching him by the collar/ Part of it could be his maturity but he def listens better to me.

I was at the training field this morning, and Maia and Chinook both went after two squirrels they heard in the bush/trees over 100 meters away. I called Chinook, who was not in the bush, and he came at a jog, which is normal for him. Then, I waited until I heard that Maia was really barking after the squirrels and I called her ONCE. Out she came, running at full speed back to me!!! THAT was amazing to see. I cannot wait for tonight's distraction webinar.
