Just thought i would pass along, yesterday at my Hancocks I found Tear Mender for .65 cents. It was marked down 95% the clerk said. I am sure i will not go through more than one bottle with one pup but wanted to pass this along to you breeders who use that product. I don't know if it is all Hancocks or just mine. There were about 2 dozen bottles i would guess, if any one is interested i would be happy to go back get it for you and send it. Just let me know. I always love to hear about a good bargin and pass it along.

Is Tear Mender a liquid or a white glue texture?

It seems to be that if its liquid it would be hard to work with. I preferred Speed Sew which is the texture of white school glue (even a little thicker) and comes in a metal tube. I know it can be hard to find in the US, but if you can find it, its worth it!

Jiffy sew is like that as well.It stays on my finger until I put it where it needs to go.

It is white glue texture. Not too thick though. But it is not sticky at all. Dries in seconds and rolls off your fingers when you rub your fingers together. But it stick hair to hair great. As it ages it gets loose and lets go with the oils in a month or so. I tried Jiffy sew when I could not find tear mender and did not like it at all. :(

Yes its just as justicemom said. I did it first try. If you have a sec take a look in our album and tell me how i did.

I read that after they get adult teeth or (6 mo) maybe too late. Bella is not 5 months yet and has most of her teeth but not all.. I am a serious Virgo and have to have it spelled out and a picture drawn LOL..of course i know there is no really way to know if it will work for sure but do I understand correct that she falls into the not too late criteria?

You gotta love me right? even if i drive ya crazy....:eek2:

Jiffy sew and Speed sew are different products. I can't speak to Jiffy sew but Speed sew is great!

Sorry but I HATE Speed Sew - Tear Mender is Great!

I used Tear Mender on Sadie and loved it. Its a fabric glue specifically for tents so its water proof and stays flexible. Its thicker than regular fabric glues and dries really quickly. I think the packaging says that it dries in 30 seconds and bonds in 2-3 minutes. Its not as hard to remove as other fabric glues either, and often you get get it out by rolling it between your fingers.

I tried Speed Sew when I was gluing Ginny's ears since its so highly recommended on the forums and other dog web sites. I honestly hated it. I'm actually surprised that so many people use it, I didn't find it any better than any other fabric glue that didn't work. It was very runny and messy and took forever to dry. I ended up giving up and buying Tear Mender anyway.

you are right about it being flexible, i hadn't considered that others would not be. Of course we are only 3 days out with our very first glueing. So far so good she seems fine with it. However my family is giving me grief, teasing me and saying she don't like it and that she can't hear now...they said my mom must have taped my ears when i was little... I just laughed and said nope but she did tape my bangs.. I was just shocked that it was only .65 cents that was a bargin
