To vaccinate or not...that is the question?

haven't had to do the puppy shots since Callie was an adult when I got her. But, Alabama requires annual rabies. The three year thing is hopefully going to be an option someday soon but right now, it's every year. :(
 
Thanks for your input everyone. Despite what has already been done, I think I have come to some conclusions. Being that I live in an apartment complex, where there are several dogs around and owners who do not find it necessary to clean up after their dogs, I think my pup needs the bordatella. As for the rabies, NJ requires boosters at least every 3 years, which is nice. Also, I think I will no longer have Sophie get the Lepto anymore. We have geese around, but I think she'll be fine. As for subsequent boosters, I'll ask my vet if she can do titers so I do not over-vaccinate my pup. Thanks everyone again.

I am due to go back to my vet to discuss what shots Cali is going to get this year also as she is due in about another month and I am very confused on what she does / does not need.

I live in a wooded area with a stream running through the middle of my property along with alot of wet marshy land so I have a feeling she is going to have to get alot of shots this time around. Anybody with some insight on this? She is a little over a year old so this will be her second round of shots. She got her rabies today since it is a mandatory thing here in MD but as for everything else I am lost..

I would get the Lepto.

It's not the geese that you have to worry about. It's everything else that might carry it, and then pee where your dog walks. If she walks, licks, eats anything off the ground that's contaminated, she could get it.
