TPLO surgery

Our 7-year old little girl just had Tibural Plateau Leveling Ostomy surgery for her back left knee. I understand it is a pretty common surgery that places a steel plate between the bones in the leg in order to support the knee and prevent slippage between the bones. Her meniscus in the knee also was torn and they trimmed that in order to reduce any further tearing.

She is active but is not in herding or agility; the only thing we can think of that may have caused this, over time, is her turning in tight circles on our stairs by the front window while warning and "protecting" us.

Does anyone have experience with this (TPLO) surgery and the rehab afterward? We understand the recovery/rehab time is about 6-10 weeks.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Before we figured out that Gavin had a groin pull and not a torn CCL, I spent a lot of time on support groups for that.
Once one knee goes, it is highly likely the second will too probably due to overcompensation. 6-10 weeks is how long until you can take decent walks. To rehab properly, it is like 4-6 months or something like that of controlled activity and PT exercises. Letting a dog off leash before is asking for re-injury, just chasing a squirrel can do a lot of damage. I would search for some facebook groups. If the goal is successful rehab, it is pretty involved.
