Tumor Time Again - Update

Ron - thoughts as you have your procedure... Maybe your wife can finagle an ottoman of sorts so teddy can be up there near you as yu recuperate.

Ann, OMG - my fear. So glad you got your hands on her! Just gotta say, WTH??? You are living the life of Job - thinking of you. If you need anything, you know I am not far away and LOVE to drive. Away the 12 - 18th if the snow allows.

Sprite is out of surgery. The vet was able to remove the entire tumor and hopes she got it all, although she said she would have liked to take more for clean margins but tough because there's not much skin on her paw. So now we wait for the biopsy results, 10 to 14 days. She'll be home later this afternoon. More waiting, and Misty goes in next Tuesday for her spleen removal.

In the past six months I've had three dogs with tumors...Lacey's mast cell, Flurry's jaw, and Misty's spleen which she goes to the surgeon for next Monday to see whether she needs the surgery.

Over the weekend I was bathing Sprite, and noticed a black spot on her front paw which I thought was dirt. It wasn't. It's a round, dark growth that looks like a raised mole under her fur at the edge of her nail line. Today we saw the vet who confirmed that it's a tumor, probably either a benign sarcoma or a malignant melanoma. It has to be removed and biopsied. He also aspirated it to check for mast cells. So off to surgery she goes, as soon as they can schedule her. Their wait list is the end of March, so my vet is going to tinker with the schedule to get her in sooner.

I'm beginning to wonder whether we live in a cancer cluster area. My poor little Bossypaws.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
