UGH! How do I make her stop!

My Madison has become a hunter. She hunts the backyard everytime she goes out. What does she hunt you say????





CAT POO :dead::dead::dead:


It is her mission to find a piece to munch on everytime she goes out. UGH! I am completely grossed out by it. And she doesn't listen to me when I say no. She knows what I'm saying, but chooses to ignore me (the little snot LOL) I say no and start to come after her and she rushes to pick that piece of poo up and swallow as fast as she can.

Yesterday I took a soda can and put some pennies in it and see if I could startle her away and it does work, but she goes back after it.

YUCK! YUCK! YUCK!
 
I'm Not Sure There's Much You Can Do

That is one of my parent's sheltie's favorite treats. That and rabbit poo. There's not much they can do about the wild rabbits and the cat poo thing was an issue when my parent's had cats, Milo would try and raid the litter box.

To keep my dog Sadie out of trouble when she goes outside to do her business I give her treats as soon as she comes in. She associates her coming in the door with getting a treat so she's always in a rush to come back in right away. I say 'Sadie Come!' and she knows that she'll get a treat as she walks in the door. But this is to keep her from eating her own poop (she's REALLY gross, she only likes her own and only if its fresh and warm :dead:), not cats so I can just go outside and dispose of it. You may just have to try keeping a closer eye on what cats do in your yard. Easier said than done, I know! :uhoh:
 
Brie - I think you might be on the right track with the penny can. If it got her attention and maybe you could follow it up with a treat and a good girl and when she goes back after it do it again. She might get the idea that she would rather have the treats than the poo. My dogs like to raid the litter box for poo too! They haven't been doing it much lately though because they have been outside a lot. Glad I don't have it in the yard! Other than that, I'm not sure what else you could do. Good luck!
