Under 5 Pound Bags Of Food

I do have another suggestion (you may or may not be open to it) but have you tried Little Stars? These are the "every day" treats that we use for our two. We get a couple boxes at a time and put them in a tupperware container.

I've used the Little Stars (http://wet-noses.com/dog-treats) as a training treat and the dogs love them. It is a nice alternative to using kibble. They are an organic treat with no corn, wheat, soy, etc. The Little Stars are at the bottom of the page I linked to.

You can buy Go and Now at my pet food store in one-pound bags.

Go definitely comes in a 1 pound bag. I know my local pet store can order it for me in any size their distributor carries. Could this be an option?

I also just Googled Go dog food 1 pound and Now! came up on Amazon.com with a drop down menu that you can select the size bag you want - including a 1 pound bag (http://www.amazon.com/Grain-Turkey-...d/dp/B0013QRY18/ref=pd_bxgy_petsupplies_img_c)

Amazon also had a few Go! flavors in 1 pound bags:
Chicken, Fruit, Vegetable: http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Chick.../dp/B0018CFROS/ref=pd_bxgy_petsupplies_text_b
Duck: http://www.amazon.com/Food-Natural-Duck-Formula-Pound/dp/B003VNKRRE/ref=pd_sim_petsupplies_4
Wild Salmon/Oatmeal (which is what I feed Edan and CJ): http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Salmon-Oatmeal-Formula-Pound/dp/B0018CFRPM/ref=pd_sim_petsupplies_8
A grain free variety: http://www.amazon.com/Food-Natural-Grain-Endurance-Pound/dp/B000W5SL2C/ref=pd_sim_petsupplies_5

That Silaria! I also found Go! on amazon, but those look like their old bags of food. Go! recently changed all their bags. The formulas might still be the same though.

I was talking to someone from my local distributor of Go! and Now! (the same distributor my pet store uses for their products) at a dog show recently. She said because the bag change is fairly recent, some of the older labeled bags are still out there but the food is still within it's use by parameters. In fact the 1 lb sample bags she had on hand were all the old labels but the larger bags were the new labels.

She also said it is the same formula, just the bag has changed.

It's also possible Amazon didn't update their pictures yet.

One thing I did notice was the kibble in the 1 lb bag of Salmon and Oatmeal was smaller than the 12 lb bag of "Sensitive Stomach" (which is the new branding for the Salmon and Oatmeal) I bought for the dogs. The ingredients were identical though; I checked - twice. Once at the show and once when I brought my 12 lb bag of Sensitive Stomach home.

Edan and CJ LOVE the stuff.

I too use kibble for threats and thus buy small bag ones. One new "discovery" we made is Nutrisca food. I like it because it is small sized kibble, I can buy small bag for almost $10 less than Orijen, calorie wise is much better than Orijen/ NUtrisca is 350 to Orijen 490, which is other brand my boys like for treats/
It is reasonably priced and has low glycemic numbers which means it will not throw my dog for a rollercoaster ride- going up and down with sugars, I find it is important thing to remember with performance dogs.
My dogs prefer lamb to salmon recipe but eat both with gusto which is all I am asking treats to be.
I really really like it.

The only one that I know of is Acana.

I use the little stars as well!!! I also have been known to take dry cat food and use that as well!:)

Now! and Go! both sell 1/2 lb bags of food. I don't know of any other product that sells small size bags except as samples. Both of these have grain-free formulas.

Stores like mine carry sample packages that you can buy for .99 or less. I carry samples for our house brand, Performatrim, as well as Wellness, CHSP, TOTW, etc. We often give these out as free samples, but do sell them to buyers like yourself who use them as treats. Each package, I think, is about 12 oz. We do tend to limit though. If we see the same person coming in over and over to get the cheap samples, we do have to cut them off.

I bought some Little Stars treats in the mean time.

Hopefully, nutrisca can send me samples. If not, I will order their 1 pound bag. Thanks everyone!
