USDAA Question: Masters Challenge Jumpers

I decided to do a few runs at a local USDAA trial. Also, because the club that I joined is hosting and well, I have to work to make my hours.

Question. I just got my confirmation notice. The jump height says 22". OMFG!! Does Koji need to jump 22"? I run Preferred at 16" typically.

I can't seem to find an answer and for some reason, I just assumed he would be jumping at his lower height.

Let me know, so I can pull out. Although, I think it's too late to get my money back as it closed yesterday.

Sounds like you entered the wrong class. There is a performance masters challenge jumpers.

Thanks for pointing that out. I don't think I would have noticed. In fact, I did look at my premium, still missed it. :rolleyes2:

Oh phew! I looked (again) at the premium that I sent in (this is why I keep copies, lol). For some reason, I thought that there was only one class and I made a huge mistake. I double checked, I have "masters challenge performance jumpers" checked.

Scared myself for a moment there.

I usually keep copies of my entries too- but not for the USDAA trial that Dixie is in the first weekend of Oct. I finished filling it in at practice after talking to some of the club members who have done USDAA (one will be Dixie's partner in pairs - the main reason that we are competing at that trial) and then entered. so while I thought we were going to do Gamblers and Jumpers on Sun, we are doing Standard and Jumpers. not a big deal really- we've never done any type of Gamblers so it's probably better if we watch first....

no Cranberry at this trial- he'd have to jump 22 there.....
but we have Nadac and Akc coming up so he'll get to have some fun soon too

I hear ya. Usually when I sign up for everything, I don't really care. But when I sign up for just some, I keep a copy, in case the TS makes an error.

BTW, why don't you run Cran in Preferred at 16"? That's what I do, no way I'm jumping Koji at 22". I'd prefer to run in Championship, but it is what it is. Looks like we will be able to (at 18") soon enough. :) Just gotta get remeasured.

well, there's really only the one local USDAA trial and lots more AKC and NADAC...
so unless they offer the fun stuff like pairs, I probably wouldn't go at all. I went to watch last year and help out (it was the first trial for that club- I have friends in it and I told them I'd help out since it's not a big club) and one of my friends joked that Dixie should run pairs with her dog. so we entered this year.
and poor Cran still would have to jump 22 as he misses the 18 cutoff....
I'd do preferred but he doesn't need all the other stuff that they change for preferred in USDAA.......
so it's not like we're hurting for trials to enter- I have chosen not to enter a bunch of AKC trials that people in my club go to...
of course, the majority of them are only running one dog and not two - it adds up.......

I get it. The only reason I really started in USDAA was because it was "free". My club was hosting it and I had credit. I did a few more because I liked the variety of games. Like you, I'd rather not do Preferred, but since I was doing it, I had to make a choice. And even then, I'm still in P1, so obviously I don't trial very often. LOL

even though I'm in some clubs- nothing is free........
if you're lucky and win the worker's raffle, you might get one free entry...:fl

Bummer. They changed the rules, but in my last club, for every 8 hours you worked, you got a free weekend. I think it was 8. They changed it to money off now. But still, worth it, since I'd be working all day.

well, both my AKC club and my NADAC club are pretty small member-wise.
so we are pretty much expected to help out with all the trials- equipment loading/unloading, initial setup and final breakdown, pretty much anything that needs done.......
