We have reached a milestone!

Lacey got the last of her puppy shots today. Other than rabies she is done!! Since she had such a bad reaction to the last shot my vet classified her as a sensitive. She was given both a steroid and benadryl. We then waited 15 minutes before they gave her the shot and another 15 minutes after. She is doing just fine now and I hope it continues.

She is up over a pound in the last 3 weeks and is up to 7pounds 7 oz.
Getting to be a big girl!!

I'm glad your vet gave her that classification and precautions were made. It's nice to have a vet that understands your concerns! I think she's still smaller than Missy was when she came home at 10 weeks! Tiny little thing.

Congratulations, one milestone down, many more to look forward to. Like the others stated, I am glad to hear the vet took your concerns into consideration and treated Lacey accordingly. YEH Lacey, on to bigger and better things! :wink2:

I'm so glad that she was pre treated. She had no reactions to the shot at all this time. And she not only ate her dinner (along with Milo's leftovers) but had a snack before bed as well. She was starving! I'm waiting to see if she sleeps in later this morning because she had a snack around 8:00. She's a growing girl.

shots and the holistic approach

I HATED getting shots in the past on my previous shelties, they always had it rough....With Kaleigh, I went with a holistic vet, who gives Thuja along with the shots, and she didn't experience what my others went through...and he only administers the bare minimum because he agrees that most vets OVER-VACCINATE for profit, not for the pet. Read up on it, and shelties being a highly sensitive reactive breed suffer IMHO...
