Well, we have been Sheltie owners for just a little over a month now. I have read the all the forum sections and have come to the conclusion that we hit the jackpot with our 5-month-old Sammy. He could be certified in all negative Sheltie behaviors:
1) Barks for the sheer joy of barking.... Check
2) Lunges after cars....Check
3) Chases the cat....Check
4) Play bites anything that moves....Check
5) Will eat anything that doesn't run away from him...Check
6) Barks at anything and everything when on a walk...Check
7) Tries to herd all living things, including the neighbors....Check
8) Digs holes in fence to visit neighbor dog (uninvited)....Check
9) Has teeth, Will Chew, anything but toys....Check
10) Is on a mission to kill the vacuum cleaner, making it almost impossible to clean the floors
BUT...
He can't chew his bone unless his entire little body is draped across my feet.
He doesn't walk at all, but prances like a little antelope
He loves to prance around the yard with his head held high, and his tail wagging in a circle
When I'm sad he puts 2 little paws on my leg, cocks his head from side to side, and gently yips
He makes us laugh every night with his zoomie antics
He looks so cute dragging his leash over to us when he wants to go for a walk
He fetches like a pro
There's something about that little head with the soulful brown eyes and one ear up and one ear flopped that will make us put up with anything!
So I'll keep reading and learning all that I can from all of you.

Sca never was a draped over my feet guy he was on the back of the couch for his death from above ear attacks
But he fit a lot of those except barking.... now though he has taken to getting bossy with his barking
