I just hd my first raw fed litter. I started them at 4 weeks on a rotation of ground duck, chicken, turkey, and pork and minced up a small amount of chicken heart and liver. I added a fish oil capsule by breaking it and mixing the liquid in it with the meat. Once they got a little older (7-8 weeks) i added raw chicken necks as one of their meals. They are easier to manage than wings. I also gave them a little mackerel every now and again. They have done really well on the raw. I actually had fluffier coatier puppies than what I normally have. They have done really well on the raw. One remains, which is the one my fiancé kept, and I have kept with two meals a day- one ground meat, and one chicken necks. They are now 13 weeks old. The reason I am still feeding ground is to provide a variety of meats, and this puppy is so little that she isn't ready to manage any larger bones than what is found in a chicken neck or wing yet, and the necks are much cheaper than wings for me to get. I'm hoping between 4-5 months I will be able to stop giving ground, and switch her to unground pieces of chicken necks/backs/quarters, duck frames, turkey necks, and pieces of lamb and pork. She could probably handle rabbit now, but at $3 per pound, I am not feeding rabbit. Too many dogs here for that, and I have to buy it by the case.
