Weave Proofing Video--Amazing!

I just watched this video because it was posted to a local agility list and was going to post it here. Pretty amazing and fun to watch.

As far as best way to train fast weaves? I don't know. We trained using wire guides. It that also called channel? I've been told Phebe has fast weaves, and I'm certainly happy with her weaves. I like this method because it gives the dog the ability to be independent of the handler very quickly, and more opportunity to be 'right' from the very start.

OMG, that was fun to watch but I am thinking how the heck???? lol

I believe in teaching it through 2x2 (only method I am training, haha so hat do I know, ) but for teaching entry and focus.
I find you can back chain it at any point if you need to... I LOVE it now

We used a combination of channel (and wires) for speed and weave o matics for footwork. I'm intrigued by 2x2 but no one where I was taught it.

you would have loved it with Lexi!
I was at a workshop and Toffee did the full set of weaves really fast for the first time, he was two stepping it and had real drive which was great to see, even tho I have never yet trained for speed as much! He is learning on his own, which is exactly what 2x2 weave training is designed to do...
I remember when I was on here saying oh how the hell is this supposed to work, lol. Thank God for Ania who was able to give me step by step help :D

I did channel weaves and weavomatics with Che and am switching to 2x2 with Leo. Makes more sense to me. I am reteaching Che too as I go along.

Amazing video! I'm in the learning process w/ my sheltie boy right now and we've only been working on weaves for awhile using 2x2. It seems like a magic. He's doing four poles right now... during last lesson, he wouldn't hit the entry and i didnt know what was wrong. then trainer told me to take tunnel and jump before leading him to weaves which caused that i didnt run w/ him close to weaves and he did it amazingly and was really fast. we did it few times in different direction and as long as i kept my distance and didn't push him or try to lure him w/ my hand, he was brilliant, doing it all on his own. I sure have learnt my lesson that I should trust him more and let him do his job :smile2:
