What do your dogs think?

Sometimes I wonder what my dogs think of the sport...do they love it?

The other day I saw this commercial on TV, and my husband and I looked at each other, and this is EXACTLY what I think Lexi is saying when she's doing agility!

lolll
oh that is too cute
weeeee, as happy as a slinky on an escalator... yep I think that's a good comparison, it certainly shows in her videos!

Well, after having the animal communicator tell me that Koji is bored of agility, doesn't understand why he can't do what he wants, and that all the ribbons and Q's are for me (not him), it has made me really re-evaluate what we are doing.

I have taken a 2 month break and when I did my last trial, I just ran with him and had fun. He entered the weaves wrong, I didn't fix him. He flew off the teeter and AF, who cares. He passed a jump, I didn't even blink. I just let him run. I hope he had fun again, but who knows.

I decided not to go back to training just yet, and let him just do his thing (usually that's sleeping).

I think before, he used to have fun, but now, I think we both see it as "working", so it's not fun like the slinky anymore, cute commercial btw. When I see Lexi running, I can see her thinking that. Bentley, not so much. I think he's like Koji. Working for you (even if it is slightly fun too).

This is why I'm going to try lure coursing this weekend. Now THAT I think Koji will enjoy immensely.

BTW, it was a bit heartbreaking to hear that he was bored with agility and even more so when he told her that all the ribbons and Q's were for me, not him. Ouch.

Shadow loves agility but he could care less about it anymore. He says he has been there and did it all and now just enjoys being a dog.I took him to a demo a couple weeks ago and he wanted no part of it.Sting on the other hand loves it.I think in my opinon that a dog not liking it comes from poor training and not being consistent with it.

Phebe loves it. This week was our first back at class in 2 months. She ran like she had never missed a single class, and watched intently, but quietly, with a huge Sheltie smile while her buddies had their turns. No doubt in my mind that she loves it.

Cute commercial! Bailey hated it at first because she was terrified of everything, but now 2 years later she loves it! I can tell because she is really picking up speed and confidence. And now when other dogs are training, she watches them run and can you tell she can't wait for her turn.

Oh dear!
Poor Koji... sorry, got to disagree with your A.C.
Has this A.C. even been to a trial?
Review your videos... Koji *is* enjoying himself!
Having tested an A.C. I'm guessing most A.C.'s are fakes.
Obviously if you aren't having fun, Koji will know, but I think you are a good enough team to just do it & stop fretting over this or that.
Just have fun, & so will Koji... then one day you'll wonder what the big deal ever was when you realize how much you have achieved.
