What's a grin?

Can anyone tell me what a 'grin' is in Sheltie conformation parlance?

I read someone mention that their friend's bitch developed a grin and couldn't be shown. She came from the same breeder as my Kis, who I had to stop showing because of an overbite. So I'm wondering if that bitch had the same issue as Kis or the breeder is having an issue with mouths.

I've never heard it described that way either, but I imagine it refers to dogs whose lipline doesn't quite meet as it should. You'll occasionally see dogs whose teeth show just a little even when their mouths aren't open or, as you suspected, if their bite is incorrect.

Oh okay, that makes sense. Wonder if the dog is from the same litter as Kismet. The person had approached someone I know who just had a litter and I saw the FB thread. At some point, prob when Tully isn't around I'll get a boy for showing, but given how long it took me to get Kismet, I need to check out breeders and the type of dog they are breeding. There is another I like but her dogs regularly go over size and I don't want to find I've got another unshowable dog.
