Which CC Pin brush do you use (Series/pin mm/length)?

I am sure the CC pin brush I have for my long haired chihuahua will soon not be sufficient for my sheltie pup as he grows, and I wanted to see if any of you use CC pin brushes and if so what series/pin mm size/length that you use?

Thank you in advance for any insight!

There are posts on this already, and you are going to get opinions all over the map.....

My favourite overall is the 35mm oblong, though I could easily settle for a 27 mm as well. I do have a 20 mm oval which I will use occasionally.

For some reason, I don't like the oval shape as much. I guess I find the oblong allows for a straighter line brush technique. It's also lighter so easier to manipulate.

I find the longer hair and thick undercoat of a Sheltie responds well to a longer pin. I know I've used the 20 mm recently (because I found hair in the brush, but honestly can't remember why!)

For 90% of my brushing I use a Lawrence Tender Slicker (love, love, love this slicker) and my 35mm.

I also purchased a super cheap soft small slicker for around the ears. It's about 1 inch square. Perfect! It was made by Vista.

I do want to get a greyhound comb someday. The comb I have is ok, but I find it ackward sometimes.

Not discounting the quality of CC brushes, but there are many others out there as well that are great brushes to.
I love thr All Systems pin brushes.I have 2 now. A 27mm & a 35mm. I recently decided to try the 35mm on Trapp,as he is quite heavy in coat, especially in the pants area. And really do like it.
There are also Madan brushes, many folks love as well.

Unless you are already set & decided or purchased your CC brush(s),there are alternatives.

Thank you for the replies:smile2:

I was considering a CC brush, as I know they are nice, plus the main reason is I have a nice gift certificate to there, so it kind of negotiated my purchasing since I would like to use it :wink2: I have liked my one CC brush I have for the chihuahuas.

This is by far my go to brush. Its the first one I always reach for in my grooming box. It just fits my hand/brushing style. I also have the the oval which I do like when brushing up Noah's ruff when hes in full coat at the shows as it seems to grab a larger area. I have all 27mm brushes and one 20 oblong for puppies that I use since they do not have that undercoat/coat length to get though like the adults do.
