I printed this out into an 8 x 10 and I'm so, so pleased! Now I just need to find the right frame.....I'm betting son or DH would be pissed if I took our their photos and replaced with this one!
Beautiful, beautiful dogs! Anna was a "pet"...and I had her groomed 4-5 times a year as her coat changed with the seasons. I am starting to notice how beautiful regular grooming is, and what a big difference it makes. Anna hated the brush....she would snarl as I tried to do her coat when I first got her, so I quit. Now I think she had sensitive skin, and I could have been gentler. Your boys take my breath away!
Thanks so much! I think sometimes pedigree does really count. Both my boys are from champion stock. Which means as a companion pet owner, it just seems to make it easier to make them look good.
Believe it or not, when this picture was taken, these boys had not been groomed for many weeks! I normally only bath them 3 or 4 times per year, and brush them out, trim nails, feet and ears about every 3 or 4 weeks. This picture I think was taken at the end of the cycle. But they still look pretty good, notwithstanding!
I did bring them both to a professional Sheltie groomer a couple of weeks ago, and I can't believe the difference. I learned alot just by seeing the difference it makes to have them scissored vs. shaved. More on this to come on a thread soon to come!
But you do brush them yourself, don't you? I, by no means, am any kind of groomer, but Daisy lets me brush her, and seems to enjoy it, and looks so much better for my efforts.
The groomer who did Anna specialized in shelties (by luck), but would not take one over 25 lbs, due to back problems. I don't know how I am going to find someone to do Daisy.
I brush and trim them myself usually. I generally leave the bathing to the groomer (unless they get into the mud at the cottage, then its shampoo and a dunk in the river!
Brushing is quite easy, really, once you get the technique of line brushing. I usually procrastinate on it, but once I get started, I can hardly stop!
what a breathtaking picture. magazines should be knocking your door down to use it everyone should have the opportunity to see these wonderful shelties.....
Thanks so much! You should see this picture blown up 8 x 10! I really does knock your socks off! I just got really lucky with this shot. Dogs in perfect position, lighting just right, camera settings ready to go!
