    Suddenly afraid of her bestie

You all were spot on. Estella was reacting to the children. I arranged a playdate, as suggested. When the Mom came by with her BFF they were thick as thieves again. It was so nice to see them running through the park together.

    Suddenly afraid of her bestie

Hi all! Estella is 2 years and three months old. During the 2014-15 school year, Estella received her 12 noon walk from our neighbor's au pair. Estella had always been best friends with this neighbors border collie. The au pair would take the two dogs to the park to play. The au pair returned...

    suddenly stubborn-selective listening

Your reply made me laugh out loud. :biggrin2: Stella is very opposed to articles of clothing. At the groomer, they will giver her a jaunty bandana to wear. Once they put the bandana on, Stella will refuse to move until the bandana is removed. I think you are spot on about the vibrating...

    suddenly stubborn-selective listening

Stella has suddenly turned stubborn. She seem s to have selective listening. When it is time for a walk, she always has to sit before I put her leash on. She used to sit immediately. Now I have to repeat myself and even push her but down to get her to sit. Interestingly, if I have a food item in...

    Sheltie forgets her training

Stella has always been a good, easy to train dog. At two years old, she is suddenly forgetting her training. She is refusing to sit before we go out and has stopped coming when I call. It is almost like she is ignoring me when she doesn't feel like doing something. The recall issue is my...

blue merle puppy with heterochromia (1 blue and one brown eye)

I have been ready to add another sheltie to our family for a while. A local breeder is offering a blue merle boy who is too big to show. He is a blue merle with 1 blue and one brown eye. I think he is is quite beautiful. Is heterochromia a flaw? Are there accompanying health concerns?

Another Sheltie or a rough Collie?

I am worried about adding another Sheltie because of the barking. Estella is a good girl and does not bark in the house. If she gets a a barkysheltie companion, we may all go crazy!

Another Sheltie or a rough Collie?

I am craving my second dog, now that the our beloved cat has crossed the rainbow bridge. I will not bring anyone home until summer when I am on break from teaching. I meet up with a charming Rough Collie when I walk Estella in the morning. I am enchanted by this Collie and I have been...

    Afraid of the dark?

I confess, I am deeply in love with my 8 month old puppy, Estella. I have been very pleased, so far, that she shows no signs timidity and has not been all that barky. She reserves her barking for the squirrels in our yard. She seems to consider it her job to chase them away. I am starting to...
