My pup is Piper's brother from the same litter. Your dog's name doesn't look familiar. Is the kennel name Steller? Do you know her parents registered names?
Oh my gosh, Barley does this EVERY TIME we get the hose out. He goes bonkers chasing, biting, herding and jumping at the water. I can't even get the hose out and he's already going nuts. True brothers, these two!
There's another thread about this in the General forum and I listed my reasoning there. I've had a female, and now I have a male. I think I prefer my male just a tiny bit more because he's just SO cuddly and loving. My female was definitely more head strong but we had mutual respect. She was...
My first Sheltie was a female and I have a boy now.
These are the (totally anecdotal) differences I've noticed:
- She was way more independent and headstrong. He's way more cuddly, attached to us and eager to please. Not that my female wasn't easy to train or listened well - she did but she...
Thanks for the compliments guys!
Yeah maybe we'll see each other in a show! I might try a drop in class and see how he does! It's hard because up until now we've been doing obedience training so he'd automatically sit when we stopped walking. Gotta teach him to stand and gait now too. I...
He matches our new fence:
And one more of the little man lounging on the couch:
He's doing really well. We've started agility class and he's been doing great with the excercises, absolutely no fear or hesitation, but not so great staying away from the other dogs. He wants to play with...
Ooooh boy, this sounds familiar. I have a just turned one year old boy (Piper's brother actually!) and he's still a bundle of energy, some days I feel even more so than when he was younger!
We go to the dog park for an hour and the entire time he's playing and running and chasing, and that...
My boy is one year old! I can't believe how fast a year flies by!
I'm so proud of the dog he's become. He's loving, sensible, loyal and so sweet. He's got an innate sense of politeness and respectfulness. He now has the free run of the house while we're out and does so well. He's my toddler's...
We switched to adult at 7 months. Just keep an eye on her weight - I'd say after 6 months you can switch at anytime. If she's a good weight and pretty active you can keep her on puppy for up to a year. It's up to you really.
