    Dental Needed?

Willow had her annual vet visit today. All was well but the vet would like to have her in to do a full dental. She has very mild plaque on some teeth. I'm not really convinced that it is required for her health but I thought I'd toss the question into the forum. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

    Fabric choice

Our leather seating needs to be replaced as it is covered in scratches and the frame from Willow over the years. I am wondering what fabric I should use. Perhaps I should use leather that starts with a color or pattern that doesn't show scratches up that easily. Microfiber seems popular and is...

    Compromise, Sheltie style

Many dogs love to play fetch. Willow does not fall into that demographic. She will fetch but she does it with her own style. The game starts every night with Willow bringing either her plush cat or her cloth frisbee to her selected partner, dropping it into her partner's lap. Then the toy is...

    Who's Training Who?

Willow says it took her a couple of months to train my wife and me.

    Shelties underfoot

Willow does that too especially if she's feeling ignored in the kitchen.

    Shelties underfoot

It is an ongoing issue here too. Her two favorites are poking her head between my thighs and looking up at me and the second is she rolls her food ball from room to room until it gets stepped on. Why she feels the need to follow me while controlling her ball is anyone's guess.

    -38 C morning!

You have the extreme cold and I have 18 inches of fresh snow so far. It will carry on falling all night. They have closed all the schools here and asked people to stay home if they didn't have to go in.

    Snow bunny

We have piles of snow, some from shoveling, some from drifting. Two days ago we got a couple of feet of fluffy white. I had to clear a section of my back garden for Willow as it was difficult for her to do her bathroom. Willow and I went out for a walk the next day. Unfortunately access to the...

    Getting into the car.

Willow would baulk at jumping up to her bed in the car. However, if I make sure there's nothing on the floor of the car and have my wife on the bed side of the car calling her, she will step into the car and from there onto the back seat and then hop into her bed. No fuss, no muss, no bother.

    Belle of the ball...

I wondered if the fleet of walkers and wheel chairs might bug her, but nope. She put her paws up in laps only when invited. I don't know who taught her wheeled vehicle manners but they did a good job. :)

    Belle of the ball...

As we were up north to visit with my wife's mom, who's 99 years old, I decided to bring Willow along to visit. I don't believe she has ever had so much attention. The residents fawned all over her, as did the staff. Willow was so well behaved, complete with wagging tail for anyone coming over to...

    Two dogs in one

He didn't look like one of my sons or their pals. As two of her pack buddies live on that street I did wonder if the chap had interacted with Willow's friends.

    Two dogs in one

A strange thing happened this morning as m wife and I walked Willow. Willow saw a young man loading up his car and she went a bit crazy, standing on her back paws and jumping against the harness in an effort to get to the guy. Willow normally only does that kind of thing when she spots one of...

    Two dogs in one

Willow's favorite human is home to help celebrate my wife's birthday this weekend. When my son came in the house, Willow went a little crazy, cuddling, licking with her tail wagging a mile a minute. That part is always the case when Willow greets Devin. Visiting him as he visits us are a group...
