The doc just called back and said to stop the Doxy just for the weekend to give her system a little break. He wants me to try giving it with dinner instead of breakfast. He said her stomach might not be able to handle it real well right after waking up and I personally am the same way so I can...
Ohhhhh my I spoke too soon! She vomited again after I had left.. :( It seems like it has been approx 3 hours after she had eaten and got the pill that it all comes back up. It is just a pile of undigested food ugh.. I have a call in to the vet and he is going to call me back after he is done...
So far so good! Today was her 4th dose and she has been keeping them all down. I have noticed her getting back to being her happy playful self! Occasionally I will see her be a bit slow to get up or hobble 1 or 2 steps but those have been after long periods of sleep so I have a feeling her legs...
On a side note she kept dinner down and has been way more playful and active since her first dose this morning. Hopefully things will stay on the up and up! We will see tomorrow morning so keep her in your thoughts!
The doc said to try directly after or in her food and see how she does tomorrow as it might have been too long and that it needs to be digested with the food and not food then pill.. See what I get for thinking?! :P Now to figure out how to do this without getting a VERY picky pup with her food...
Cali got her first dose of Doxycycline this morning about an hour and a half after her breakfast and then about 3 hours later she vomited everything she ate back up. I saw that vomiting is a side effect of it so does anybody have any suggestions on making it easier for her? I thought giving her...
I was hoping it was just how she was laying at first, but it happens no matter what position she is in and usually after only a few minutes of being down. Same type of reaction though. She will be slow to rise when all of her weight is on her hind legs from a sit position.. Then will either...
I put a call in to my Vet this morning and asked him about all of this and gave him the suggestions that I have read on here and he agreed to give her a 10 day test run on Doxy to see what happens. He said that the cases of Lyme that he has seen in his 30 years usually are with multiple legs or...
I don't think anything other than a heart-worm test was given. I requested it be done yearly even though she is on preventative because of the amount of Mosquitos in our area. I will be on the phone first thing Monday morning to check though and if not i will have her right back in for a new...
Wow I did not know that! She had her heartworm test yesterday while at the vet and was given her Lyme vaccination also. Would the shot cure her if it was lyme? She has always been kept up to date on her vaccinations but I guess there is always a chance of her contracting it anyway. The weather...
Cali has been having a little problem with "limping" after getting up from laying down. The problem seems to be spotty, but it is definitely not going away and after another visit from a different vet and more x-rays we are all still baffled on what is going on with her! The problem is that...
She is generally a calm pup but not when it comes to her eyes so there will be no attempted plucking from me! :eek2: Hopefully it will be mild enough to try some eye drops before surgery and see how that goes. I know she won't like having to do it every day, but at least it will give some...
Took Cali in for a early visit to the doc because she was having a bit of trouble getting up after laying down. She spent about a week with my Mother after one of her Doxy's had passed recently so her other pup would have a friend around and stated the limping right after she came home. We...
