Vomiting after first dose of Doxycycline. Should I worry or give it another day?

I sent you a PM with links, Mike. Amazon ships quickly, especially if you have Prime. Good luck!

Thank you Ann! So far so good today. I have not received a phone call from Kim yet so breakfast must be staying down. Hopefully it stays that way!

So far so good! Today was her 4th dose and she has been keeping them all down. I have noticed her getting back to being her happy playful self! Occasionally I will see her be a bit slow to get up or hobble 1 or 2 steps but those have been after long periods of sleep so I have a feeling her legs might genuinely be asleep. She is back to actually wanting to go on walks too! Before she would walk a bit and then just freeze up and stare at the ground like she was saying "I don't want to go any further!". Hopefully she will get better as the days go by. I am really glad I said something to my doc about this! Thanks to everyone! :smile2:

Ohhhhh my I spoke too soon! She vomited again after I had left.. :( It seems like it has been approx 3 hours after she had eaten and got the pill that it all comes back up. It is just a pile of undigested food ugh.. I have a call in to the vet and he is going to call me back after he is done surgery. Hopefully there is a alternative she can take because it seems to be working!

The doc just called back and said to stop the Doxy just for the weekend to give her system a little break. He wants me to try giving it with dinner instead of breakfast. He said her stomach might not be able to handle it real well right after waking up and I personally am the same way so I can see how it could be possible. He said if she is not able to keep it down with dinner then we will discuss what else we can do. He swears that after these few doses that she can't be feeling better but I beg to differ. I am assuming that a pill being in her stomach for 3 hours would be pretty much dissolved and absorbed into her system but I can't be positive about that. She is definitely feeling a bit better and I am going to hate to have to see her start limping around again after I thought we were on the right track. :(
