Jumping on door and barking aggressively when being let out

I too am having the same problem with Sherlock turning and attacking the door when he goes out. He will sit and wait for me to release him to go out, but hen turns and attacks. He also loves to set up a barking contest with the two dogs on the other side of the fence. We have him in obedience...

    Brushing ?

I don't know if this will help or not, but my Sherlock does not like to be brushed when on the floor, but if we put him on the counter top in the kitchen he goes limp (thinks he is at the vet I guess) and you can do anything to him. Worth a try...

Thank you, and I know what you mean. I have been looking for a little brother or sister for Sherlock already.

    Are narrow hips normal?

I have my first Sheltie who is now 20 weeks old, 14.8 LBS, 12 3/4" tall which all seems about normal mid range size according to the charts I have seen. I am wondering about his hips, them seem narrow. I have read breed descriptions but have not seen anything on the hips.

    Hello from Hollywood FL

We (Sherlock and I) are new to the forum. This is our first day, and my first Sheltie. We had a Samoyed for 16 years and she passed two years ago. We swore we would not go through that again. He was born July 5th, so he is 4.5 months old. He is sable, white and black and is a bundle of joy...
