    Lacey's stitches are out!

HI everyone I took Lacey to the vet to have her stitches removed this morning but when the vet tech tried to remove them they were already GONE! The little scamp removed them herself! She's her adorable obnoxious self again and as soon as the hair on her foot grows back one won't even be able...

What a difference a day makes!

Wow what a difference a day makes in rehab from surgery! Lacey had her dressing removed Saturday morning. She limped most of the day on Saturday hopping on three legs rather than putting pressure on her injured foot. But today (Sunday) she's running around in the grass outside like nothing...

    Lacey's surgery went well

Lacey came home about four PM today. She was a little dopey and wanted to sleep for the first three hours she was home. I let her be quiet in her crate and she appreciated the solitude. By dinner time she was making just as much noise as the rest of the kids clamoring for their dinner. I...

Broken bones update not good news....

We had our third X-ray today and Lacey's toe has displaced again. There is nothing to hold the bones together.. It isn't healing properly and the prognosis is not good. She is so tiny and her bones are so small that they can't put a pin in the bone to hold it in place. The choices I have is...

    Broken bones update

We saw the vet on Friday for Lacey-Lou's broken bones. Her toe is knitting just fine and has not moved so it didn't have to be reset. Her leg was redressed with a bright pink wrap so now her pants and her wrap are the same colors... Two weeks more in the splint then if all goes well she can be...

    Nursing broken bones!

I was cleaning out my closet and found some old doggie boots that had been given to me. They were way too big for my shelties to use so I put them away in a basket in the back of the closet. Wow what a find for me. They have a rubber foot pad and are made of jersey material with a velcro...

    Nursing broken bones!

What a nightmare! She was so agitated with the fireworks for the July 4th celebration in our neighborhood that I decided to take her out of her crate and hold her to calm her down. She is accustomed to vaulting into my arms from the open crate door. This time she missed her step and caught her...

    Kadin has his title!

We had a rough competition today. 12 entries and 12 Q's. First place scored 100, second scored 99 third scored 98++ and for fourth place we had a four way tie with 97. My good friend Laura and her Golden ran the course a few seconds faster than I did with Kadin so she was awarded the ribbon...

    In tears all day....

Rescue stories are different when they hit you between the eyes... I understand your pain Barb.. I see it all of the time. Maybe not as bad as that poor little thing in your store but they do come in to me full of fleas, hooks, whip and round worms and ear infections. Hypothyroid, bad skin...

    Hello From the Tampa, Area

Good Morning Beth I have handled many of those kind of dogs in rescue. The best thing to do is be very matter of fact about anything you do. In other words don't show emotion and don't comfort the dog when he shows signs of fear. My attitude is Ok, so you are scared this thing/person is...

    PAL/ILP Experiences

Both Kadin (Mo Anam Cara) which is my soul friend and Lacey-Lou (My Confection in Lace) have their PAL numbers and are competing in Rally. It was an easy process. Just follow the directions on the pictures and all will go well. Good luck with having her tested for herding... Regards
