12 week old Sheltie in Eastern Ontario for adoption

oh, my.. surrendered by 12 weeks!?!
What were the people who bought her thinking? To give up in a few weeks on such a young pup :(
poor thing.
I am sure she will find a home really quick, though :D

As I was looking for a pup when I got Emma, there was a posting in the Kijiji classifieds for a pup. The girl bought her on a Saturday, put her up for sale the very next day because she realized how much time and energy a dog takes and she didn't have it to give.

Pretty girl.Too bad I'm in BC...but I am sure there is some great owners who will like to adopt her soon.Good luck in finding a new furever home Pippa.:smile2:

One way or another this sheltie will get a home. Both shelters in Gatineau have the contact info for rescue. I suspect this little one came from one of the many many mills in Quebec since the owners didn't take it back to the breeder. We have a client that got a westie puppy that was about 3 months old through the vet. The owners arranged for a puppy, got married, came back from their honeymoon, left new puppy in kitchen while they went to work, discovered puppy doesn't housetrain itself and took it to the vet to be put down. The vet called our client and asked if she wanted a puppy knowing that she would say yes and got the 1st owners to agree. I'm pretty sure I know where this pup came from. Let's just say that you send a deposit, which equals the taxes, by charge card and she arranges to meet you with pup.

I have read about so many dogs of varying breeds and age being taken to the vet or shelter and asked to be put down. Thank goodness they don't do it. I just read about two 17 yr. Old dachshaunds taken by owner to pound to be put down. They were both healthy and got rescued instead. :(

Here in Canada a vet has to comply with the request unless the owner agrees to allowing the vet to rehome the animal. As awful as it sounds, it stops vets from giving away animals that were brought in for a good reason. A lot of owners can't bring themselves to stay with their dogs when they are euthanized but need to know that the vet did the job.
