12 yr. Old sable dumped by owner pound WV

Just got email that they are going to get her Saturday and move her to Kernesville. ( don't know the area). This wonderful lady from a sheltie rescue who is ill took the time to make sure she was getting rescued. Big sigh of relief. Thanks everyone. I have more seniors in pounds. I will check their progress and post here.

This poor girl is in Northern WV, not to far from the southwestern corner of PA. Unfortunately, Western PA doesn't have a rescue any more (the site directs people to a national rescue coordinator) and the WV rescue is near Southeastern WV.

I'm still looking around to see if there's a rescue in Ohio that may be able to help.

Hooray for Dottie!!! She got into rescue fast…. No wonder, she’s so beautiful. Thanks all!

New Cumberland, WV, where Dottie is, is very close to the western PA line and only about an hour from my home. We don’t have a sheltie rescue (that I’m aware of) in west PA but I do have contacts in northeast Ohio that may help in the future if needed. The next closest is Central Ohio sheltie rescue. That said, if another comes up in this area I can gladly offer transport in the west PA, northern WV and eastern Ohio areas. Also Pittsburgh International and Cleveland airport are in my radius.

I see Dottie will not go to Kearneysville until Saturday. I may leave work a little early Friday and take her some treats and a hug. Kearneysville and K9 Furbabies Rescue (Sheltie & Collie) are in eastern WV.

Dear Dottie

Wow! I want to give my big thank you to all of you who have helped this sweet little girl. God bless each and every one of you and Chris, please tell Debbie how much we all appreciate what she is doing for Shelties. I just think it is really unforgivable to have a dog and then give him/her up just because they are older. If Dottie was happy with her owner before, what can she be going through emotionally now? It really breaks my heart to see our sweet Sheltie loves in situations like this. I agree, the former owner should be in jail now herself.

Anyway, again God bless all you angels who helped save her and the two who have offered help in transporting these little souls to a safer place. I live in Oregon or I would do it too. Please continue to keep us informed about these little beauties.

Update on Dottie - she is on her way to Ohio. Almost Home rescue is getting her today. Chris's friends rescue couldn't get her as soon but they will watch her progress. Dottie is on her way to a better life! Thanks everyone especially Chris for caring about Dottie and making her rescue possible and speedy.
