Funny how some times the mind takes you back. This morning I was talking to Zak and working with him on shaking a paw. I was telling him about Lady- my first sheltie and how she was so very smart. I had such a connection with her that at times I did not even have to speak and she knew what to do.
She would sit, lay down and roll over and shake and most times all I had to say to her is "what are you supposed to do".
Lady was such a special girl, my first sheltie, my first shadow. Broke my heart the day she had to leave us. She was just shy of her 13th birthday.
So this morning as I was playing with Zak I was thinking of her and I went and looked up the exact day she passed and it was today- no wonder my mind wandered to her. I was so glad that we already had Maggie she helped to heal my heart.

Susan - thoughts are with you today. It is never easy to lose one of our babies but our memories give us such comfort.

It was 10 years ago today that I got Noah. Funny how you don't think of certain days until something brings up the memory.
 
Have you ever noticed how memories are?? One moment they bring tears to your eyes and the next moment they make you smile. Memories are so bittersweet and yet.....we hold on to them forever. I have so many memories like that...so today I'll be thinking of you, because the tears in your eyes while you think of Lady, will also bring a warm smile to your face. Because I will be there with you....today is a week since Tucker left me.....

Susan Everything you just described about Lady was my Lacey to a T. I know the pain and joy you feel all in one when you think of her. Prayers and love to you and Lady on this day.
 
Wow--the world works in mysterious ways. Love that you thought of her today, she sounds like a wonderful girl.
