2011 ASSA Nationals

And one thing I learned in Georgia? BRING A BLEACHER SEAT!!! My butt hurt so bad, at one point I ended up sitting on the floor and leaning against the bleachers, which got me yelled at by somebody who said that wasn't allowed.

OMG we ended up going to Walmart last year for bleacher seats! I couldn't even move after a while my butt her so bad LOL That is what they need to slap the show logo on and sell at the booth. I did see some people w/a good idea, they brough the pads that you put on kitchen chairs. They either had non slip stuff on the bottom or ties but they seemed thicker/softer and of course come in all those sporty kitchen patterns

HI Tami,

The trailers are all gone. The 26' motor home is $1200.00, and the 29' is $1350. In looking at the floor plans it would be very tight for th 4 people or the equivalent of two hotels rooms. The Holiday Inn is $109.00 a night, and frig and microwave is each $5 extra a day. Dog fee is $30 for the week.
TravelLodge was reasonable, but I don't recall the amount. Again, dog fee $30. Comfort in was $79.00 a night, has micro and frig, but right now they are saying $10 a night per dog. I am trying to get that changed to one flat fee, like the other hotels. I explained to them how their competition is handling it, and they are going to loose a lot of business if they don't adjust it. That's my up to the minute report.

Wow thanks for all the info. That's good to know and we definitely need to get on the ball and make some reservations. If we make online reservations do we need any type of event code to get those rates? I can call it's just nice w/online since you get an email confirmation.

Hint for all of you dog people wanting cheap stuff: Wal-Mart has two major clearance seasons, which is when they go into a season change. This usually happens in the middle of summer right is school as letting out, and right about now. They panic that they won't have all of their mark downs and clearance items gone to make room for the Christmas stuff, so they get a little generous if you hold out some.

So in other words: Keep an eye on those chairs and you might can get a good deal on them, depending on how your region handles their mark downs. Summer stuff is VERY difficult to get rid of in some parts of the country, and you might be surprised at the stuff you will find: blankets, summer plastics (like big water containers you could use to hold water for your dogs while on the road), sometimes ice chests, chairs, ect.

WEll, I'll be there...I live in St. Louis. It's about 45 minutes from where I live.
Smudge, you can't be that far away can you?

Let's see...Jennifer said it would take her about 7 hours to get there. I live an hour away from her house. So it would be around 8 hours for me. :biggrin2:

But, this year and next are out of the question. I am putting money into the old savings account for a new vehicle. :biggrin2: I am way past due for an upgrade.

8 and a half hours for me, so closer to nine for you. You should seriously go with me! :) All you'd have to worry about is your food, which could still get expensive.... And of course any extra money you'd need so you can buy out the vendors. :wink2:

It's also asking off for it though. April is always inventory for our store, and I can't get off just any old week in April.

I'll see though. I won't know the exact date for our inventory until after the first of the year anyway. What are the dates for the nationals?
