I got an email this evening from the owners of this Sheltie. Smokey is a male. They thanked me for the heads up and said they are interviewing people and checking vet references. They did ad if anyone was interested in him for me to let them know.
@ Clantyresheltie I also told him you gave your rescue a heads up in case they needed help placing him.

I'm glad they responded to someone. I never heard anything from them, but that's super weird that I'd see and respond to an ad for a blue merle sheltie named Smokey since we just lost ours a few months ago!
