3 day AKC trial-TCOTC

Shelli--you guys looked GREAT! What a difference a day made! Any idea what made Ember turn it on like that? She looked like she was loving it out there!

And Diva looked great, too. You handled it well (even if it wasn't always your plan). Nice job!

Thanks Ashley.

I am not really sure about Ember. I may have been warming her up too much or she was picking up on my stress. She can be really quirky about how much I handle her before going in the ring. She does not like to be petted or touched at all when in working mode. Sometimes when when she is turned on she doesn't like taking treats for my hands and will duck when I go to give her food.:confused2:. If I only knew what goes on in her head. I swear if dogs get Asperger's syndrome, she has it.All I can do is try to remian very calm and give her her space. Funny thing is after we Q'd we went back to our setup and she knew she was the bomb. playful, grabbing the treat bag, grab the tug out of the bag, running over to my friend and strangers around us, she even didn't want the fun to end and tugged the course map I was looking at out of my hands and took it to my friend. Goof.

It also problable helped that we did JWW first and the teeter and the chute were to the end in Std.

Diva is the polar opposite. She was so keyed up coming out of the kennel that she was quivering. I need about 5 mins warm up to even get her to settle down and think. I knew I was in trouble when I walked her to the ring and she was bouncing waist high with every step.

Very interesting! It is crazy to try to figure out what they are thinking. I am still trying to figure out the best pre-run plan for my two. Bentley is pretty easy, but Lexi...I'm still working on it.

She sounds a lot like Diva...I now take her out and throw her toy for her for at least 5 minutes before every run (if I can). It seems to help her relax a little bit (of course that's not so fun when it's 20 degrees and snowing outside!). But now that we're in Masters she has to watch Bentley run, and that makes her CRAZY. So I've resorted to shoving treats in her mouth and working obedience ring-side.

Diva had to watch me take Ember in and out 4 times before it was her turn. By the time I got to her she was wired and crazy. I do alot of fun obedience stuff ring side with Diva but she was so crazy before that last JWW run that I sat down on a chair and just had her watch me for a couple minutes. Of course, when we went in the ring she was still pulling me to the start line.:smile2:
