-38 C morning!

And these dogs had fun! Well Piper ate snow (unbelievable that he’d want to eat snow at that temperature!). Finnie and Blueberry never even noticed the boots. Fortunately tomorrow won’t be nearly as cold…a good 10 degrees warmer. Although I am getting much faster at putting the boots on them!

You have the extreme cold and I have 18 inches of fresh snow so far. It will carry on falling all night. They have closed all the schools here and asked people to stay home if they didn't have to go in.
I’d much rather have the cold than the snow! But not this extreme cold!
Piper has learned a new trick…when he’s cold he actually yelps! And he has socks on!
Way too cold!
Fortunately we’re going to warm up to -15 by Wednesday and after -38 -15 will feel warm in comparison!

I feel for you Glenn…18” is a lot of snow to shovel!

I really can't fathom that kind of cold - you Canadians are a tough bunch! The dogs sure don't care, just having fun in the snow.
While there are many who enjoy the snow and cold I most definitely am not one of them😂! I don’t mind our normal ‘cold’ which would be around-20 but these extreme temperatures I hate. It’s too cold to go out and even the dogs don’t want to stay out for long…they barely tolerate the boots (Blueberry is working on the Velcro before we’re even out the door😂😂) and when it’s too cold I think Piper’s tongue gets cold!
Spring is only just 70+ days away! And yes, I am counting the days!

Want to hear something funny - it was +38C here! I just hope you don't match temps with us the next couple of days, +43C here. I cannot fathom -38C.

I am a weather wimp and will not be venturing from the house except to take out all my winter woolies out to the clothes line that I am currently washing. The dogs can go toilet in the cat run (yes I have my house back, minus my dear Kalypso cat but that's for another post)

In a sense I’d rather it be too cold than too hot…if it’s too hot there’s not much you can do especially if you don’t have AC. Too cold you can turn up the heat or bundle up. I agree though at 38 C I’d be staying home too! And at -38 it was pretty quiet here as well…not many out and about!

I cannot even fathom that kind of cold! 22F this morning, 17F wind chill. Fortunately, we missed all the icing that happen to the north of us. Schools closed, but all roads are passable. Not leaving the house today!
I’m looking forward to the weather warming up…by next weekend we should be around 17 F (-9). The dogs will be very happy. Even with the booties on they don’t want to stay out long.
At almost-40 the air is so cold when you take your first breath it almost hurts🤣!
But surprisingly my car still starts when it’s in the garage NOT plugged in (we have block heaters on our cars here). Most garage fires here are caused by faulty extension or faulty block heater cords and the fire department encourages people to not plug in if parked inside a garage. Granted if I didn’t run my car daily chances are my battery would be dead.
