A Calming Technique?

I have Megan do the very samething when we see a car coming. I think while we are still training them to behave properly around cars, it's great that Ellie does this voluntarily. It's far better than her lunging and going ape s**t when a car goes by!

Oh so Pebbles isn't the only one that does that (the ape s**t part)?? :wink2:...luckily her crazyness is limited to trucks and buses. We live in the city and close to a major road. If it were every car, boy, I'd be in trouble. It's good to know about the sitting...I haven't tried it. I'll try to see if she ignores the bus if she's sitting or not. Right now I just try to go in another direction or try to keep her looking at me by temping her with treats.

Is there a position Sca could not bark in?..... MAYBE underwater :confused2: I did see him get all four off the ground in a bark the other day though

Yep I would encourage the sit. Sca is the opposite as he wants to run from cars not chase them. He does better if I get him to sit or look at me.

 Pebbles has no problems barking in any position...even on a full down. She was freaking out when I was watering our new sod in the backyard cause the water out of the hose freaked her out, so she'd go run infront of the water and bark (with water splashing in her face). So funny, but there goes the underwater theory ;)
