Adding essential oils to conditioning spray

I have been messing with aroma therapy and we have started doing aroma therapy shampoos and even sauna wraps at the grooming shop i work at.

I bought some of "the stuff" spray on coat conditioner and I am wondering if there is any reason that I cannot add any sort of essential oils to it? I wouldnt think it would hurt anything at all, but since it contains silicon I wasnt 100 % sure if it would be okay.

I am thinking Lavander. It smells good and helps repel ticks. And its calms.

I can't see why not. But I would test in small areas at first. You might find that the addition of the oils throws the rest of the conditioner off balance and you might end up with an oilier consistency than what you want, leaving a greasier coat than what you expected.

Related to this....I've been using Ice on Ice and Inflight supplement regularly on my boys. I brought them both to the vet on Monday for regular check ups. Two separate people came up to Bacca and commented on how great he looked....I must have just groomed him. Reality: It had been two weeks since he'd been fully brushed, and 6 weeks since he had a full bath.

Definitely something to be said for supplements and leave-in conditioning.

My tuppence worth.

I'll second what Barb said about Ice on Ice. It's FABULOUS! I finish up Ariel's grooming with CC's Silk Spirits. She's like a silky little pillow.

She must look good because both the new vet and one of the techs asked me if I was intending to show her! They didn't say anything when I told them she was sold as a pet companion on a spay contract.
