Agility Instructor conversation~

I had the most pleasant conversation today with a lady that is in SC,she is a trainer/agility instructor up in Murrels Inlet. Her name is Danielle Pellicci. Her website is:

But she told me that she had on occasion come to a surrounding area close to our town,but unfortuneatly has not been able to get her in a couple of years due to her business & training she does close to home.

But she did offer me some hope. They have just purchased land in Lake City,which is definately closer than Columbia,or Murrels Inlet,and will be a full functioning indoor arena for all agility & obediance classes,with in the year coming.
She is sending me a whole booklet,she offers to her attendees for thier use at home with thier dogs,to help me work with Trapp here at home,until I find an alternate place to take him in a class setting.

She also did say that a PetsMart will be opening soon in Florance SC,and that is only 45 minutes,so at least I can work towards Trapp obtaining his CGC,as they offer it there.

I was excited that she was so helpful. Her site is very interesting also~

great news that you will have options for training and socializing Trapp :yes:
 
I'm glad that you are finding options for agility training. I know that you are very busy and you need a place that's reasonably close.
 
That's very exciting!

If you wanted Trapp to be "ahead of the game" there are some great books out there about work you can do without any equipment. Just teaching the basics like following your hand, etc...

On a side note: I didn't realize that you were close to Lake City...my fiance is from Kingstree and has family in Sandy Bay--which I think is really close to Lake City?
 
I have'nt mapped it,but I do think we are closer to Lake city,versus Charlotte,Columbia. If I'm not badly mistaken,Lake City is not far from Florance SC. And we are only 45 minutes to Florance.

And only 1 hour-10 minutes to Myrtle Beach, and only 10 minutes from the state line. (NC)

Yes Danielle mentioned some very good books also,which will be in the back of the booklet she is sending ,me. But I am sure to be checking in here,to et guidance from everyone on thier thoughts as to good referance material.
 
Maybe they'll move in just in time for Trapp to be old enough! I seem to remember that puppies can't start agility too early anyway. I'm hoping to start around 10 months. Buffy's already an expert at jumping over our legs and now she can jump over our bodies (lying down) too :)
 
Sounds like you've found a wonderful instructor. Hope it works out for you and Trapp to get some training from her.
