Agility shelties need homes in Arizona

The foster homes are just temporary. I'm not certain if they know yet whether Joyce will recover sufficiently to take some or all of her dogs back. Anyone who is looking for a rescue Sheltie within a reasonable distance of this rescue, should contact the organization about availability for the dogs.

Such a sad situation. I have emailed my sister to notify all of her agility contacts or anyone who may be interested. Even though she his in S.C. She has many friends across the country. Praying she recovers well and her dogs find loving homes.

I have made arrangements for a friend who is a police officer to take my dogs if anything ever happens to me.
If some of you haven't, this may be a good time to think about it so they don't end up in an emergency situation like this. We just never know how many days we have left on this earth

Dawn, when I heard about this lady, I thought of my Mom, who literlly dropped dead on the bathroom floor and was gone before help came.

You are so correct when you say we have no idea how long we have on this earth. With Emma, I have no doubt one of my nieces would take her - the two who will look after my affairs.

The lady is in my prayers - it brought back too many memories.

I am so glad the Shelties have been taken care of.

Sorry guys, I really don't know any information other than what was emailed to me by my obedience trainer. All I have is Keri's email address.

It is a very sad situation. I am glad they are in foster homes and hopefully all will find loving forever homes.

It hit me the same way. My mother fell and broke her hip and we think she laid there about 12 hrs. Luckily her Pastor was coming by that day to purchase her car and found her. My Dad was in the hospital and passed the next day. From that day on my mother was never the same. They say when the elderly have a break like that their Altheimers can kick in full speed and it did. It kind of was a blessing I don't think she ever totally realized my Dad had passed.

Definitely a good thing to keep in mind and make arrangements for.

Everytime my parents get a new dog, I tease my mom and ask her if she got my approval  Somehow, she does not find this humorous, but I keep reminding her that they could someday be mine :wink2:

Just wondering if there is any more news on the lady and the Shelties? We probably won't hear on the lady but my prayers are with the family. I hope all the dogs find good loving homes.

With Emma, I had forgotten when we were talking about making arrangements for them, that first she is offered back to the breeder. It is right in the contract. I really appreciate the fact that the breeder loves her dogs enough, even when they are not in her direct care, that she wants to take care of them.

A senior replies:

My wife and I are relatively young "seniors", and fairly experienced sheltie parents. Robby, our 2&1/2 year old male sable is one of the major factors in keeping us that way. We know we need to keep up with him. That being said, should something happen to the both of us, Minnesota Sheltie Rescue will find Robby another good home, that is if they can pry him out out of hands of our sons and grand-daughter who love him almost as much as we do. -------------- I am pleased to hear that this lady is being cared for and we hope she will be able to care for at least one or two of her dogs following recovery. Thanks to the Arizona rescue people for taking care of them.

Yours aye, Will

Here is the link to the rescue group that took Joyce's dogs. It's a beautiful group of Shelties - anyone interested? They are all nice looking but Teddy has just an adorable face and expression!

Thank goodness rescue stepped in to help in this situation. It's every dog lover's nightmare.
