Yesterday, I took Shadow to class and brought Sting along to play with his brother Boom. My trainer Erin has the brother to Sting.Well, Shadow just blew me away the way he ran for me.I hardly had to run.I have such distant skillls with him.I trained his distant skills with a garbage can and it has truly paid off.I decided to run Sting a couple of times.Sting has only doe for or five obstacles at a time. He did really well and nailed and ugly entry to the weaves comming off the A-Frame.He had fun.

Care to elaborate on how you worked on your distance work with a trash can? We just started working on "outs" with Bentley, and he gets it as long as there isn't too much room between the obstacle and a jump. If there is, he takes the easy way and doesn't take the jump.

Shadow sounds a brill dog, as does Sting (love the name.
I did my first full round off lead with Cadbury yesterday. I was really pleased with him - not so pleased with my performance though, I messed him up a few times going too far ahead or giving the wrong hand signal. He did a beautiful weave run though.
But it all went wrong when he left the chute tunnel, I was too far behind, I failed to give a command, Cadbury looked around trying to figure out what to do and then decided as I was not telling him he would go see what the other dogs were up to.
If only I had run on the inside of the chute I would have been in the right place to put him on the table! Oh well, got him back and we finished successfully.
I don't think it was bad for our first run, considering he was off lead and there were seven other dogs and owners watching us!

It sounds like all of the hard work is paying off for both dogs. I'm so glad that Sting is coming along so well already. Keep up the great work and even though I don't always post a comment, I love reading about your accomplishments with both boys!

I would love to hear about it to. Tully was easy with distance work because she loves balls. Deska is a bit harder because I cant work out what he would want to leave my side for. With outs we practice around the coffee table but going ahead isnt working well.
