Almost part of the group!

I had been wanting a blue also a few years ago and ended up with a biblack- I did get a biblue later.................
Strangely enough, I rarely get Border Collie with the biblack although I get Aussie a lot with the biblue...........:confused2::no:

I can really identify with your story! Before getting shelties I had 2 mini dachshunds who both lived to about 14. I was broken hearted when they died and waited a couple of years before getting another dog. I wanted to get a different breed because I didn't want to keep comparing the new puppy to my doxies. I decided on a sheltie because everyone I knew who had shelties talked about how wonderful they are - smart, affectionate, and cute.

I did a lot of research and found a wonderful breeder. I really wanted a sable but during my first visit to the litter a little blue merle boy crawled into my lap and my heart so that decided that. Shelties are a lot like potato chips, so I also got a sable and a couple of years later another blue merle, all males. My first blue boy died a few years ago. The house seemed empty with just 2 so I decided to get another. I REALLY wanted another boy - a tri-color. I never had a tri-color before and they are so beautiful. I called the breeder and learned that one of her dogs was expecting a litter in a few months. She shows shelties and is an AKC judge - she doesn't breed her dogs very often.

When the litter was born they were all female - and all sable. Not what I wanted, but this breeder has such wonderful dogs I couldn't pass up a visit. That's all it took. A little girl, the runt of the litter, picked me and that was the end of that. I can't describe how much I love her. She has her two brothers wrapped around her finger (so to speak). I don't think we pick the dog - I think it picks us.

I've been a member of SN for a while and have found a lot of good advice here. I lurk more than post - but I love reading the stories and seeing all the pictures. Welcome!

Sca was supposed to be a Blue Merle with dark eyes and was a Tricolor with almost no brown. He was AWESOME and my flyball buddy. Spitfire was going to be a Blue Merle flyball height dog. He is an insane challenging little orange tyrant, and totally lovably cute wouldn't trade him for anything. Angus was going to be a Biblue flyball dog. He is the Blue Merle but with blue eyes and no flyball yet but the ultimate snuggle hound. He LOVES to get petted and talked to. Oh and after the passing of Sca, Spitfire truly does rule the house as he thought was always the case. Color doesn't matter ;-)
