Thank you everyone for your prayers. Eevee is back to her normal self. Eating, pooping, peeing, barking, playing and following me around the house are all back to normal. Thank goodness.
I just received a call from the vet (our regular vet is on vacation for next 10 days so his colleague called me). Apparently Eevee's AST and ALT are very high.
AST: 299 (normal range is 15-66)
ALT: 750 (normal range is 12-118)
From CBC, white cell count is little elevated: 19700 (normal range is 4-15000). But she has either UTI or vaginitis right now, so she's been on antibiotics for 3 days now.
Creatine: 0.4 (normal range is 0.5-1.6)
BUM (?): 5 (normal range is 6-31)
The vet who called me said creatine and BUM(?) level being little low is ok, but she's concerned with elevated AST and ALT. She was worried that Eevee might have a liver shunt. But she's not showing any signs of that. Actually she's not even showing signs of UTI. I just noticed that her vulva area had little bit of mucous coming out one time, and just wanted to get it checked out. They said she had bacteria, white cells, crystals etc in the urine. Our vet was sooo shocked that Eevee didn't have any accidents in the house or showing any symptoms when the urine sample looked so bad. He said to give Eevee a pat on the back. She's such a good girl... Such a sweet heart...
Anyway, this lady vet recommended that we get an ultrasound done just to make sure everything is ok. Since Eevee's back to herself, I just wanted to wait until our usual vet gets back from the vacation. I asked if anesthetics can cause liver enzymes to go up and she said yes. So I'm wondering if Eevee's liver enzymes are high because her liver was trying so hard to metabolize the anesthetics.
Since she's back to her old self, the vet I spoke to said it's not an emergency thing so we can wait until our usual vet gets back. I think I'd be more comfortable talking to him and get his opinion.
Has anyone had similar problems?? Eevee is only 13 month old and that's why the lady bet wanted to check her anatomically to see everything looks normal. She said if the ultrasound is normal, then she wants to do function tests and check for bile acids etc. Everything sounded so scary!
