AnnaBelle slide show

It's clear you made AnnaBelle's life pure joy! I always think a great tribute to a great Sheltie is...bringing another Sheltie into your life. That little nudge you're feeling? That's AnnaBelle. :wink2:

Thank you all for your comments and support. This morning was tough, but tonight is better. I know there is NO WAY I will get any other type of dog.. the sheltie is my breed.

I still cry....and I still look for her... my heart leaped when there was a gold pillow on the floor...I thought it was her.....it's this sea sick feeling that I can't shake...

I was going to give away her leashes and an unopened bag of Taste of the Wild, but I think I will keep them a bit. I need a dog. I suffer from depression, and a dog gets me outside, walking, and happy. I am not ready yet,,,,but I will rescue a sheltie someday. The pups are so cute on the Friday pics of the Sheltie Nation page, but it's the older dogs that need my love. I healed Anna with love...she was a mess when I got her. No hair, not housebroken, heartworm positive. Scared of her shadow. She got to be sassy, and a very good dog. Survived the heartworm treatment. And put up with me. It was a two-way rescue.

I am grateful to the forum.

I was going to give away her leashes and an unopened bag of Taste of the Wild, but I think I will keep them a bit. ...

5.5 years after Chelsea died, I've still got things of hers that I can't throw out. Some toys, leash, x-ray showing her enlarged heart, all her vet bills. The latter just kept as a reminder of some of the things we went through. Be they good, or worriesome.

I have Hamish's collar. I lost him in September 2000 and was not with him when he went as I was working in another town. In December that year, I received a parcel from the vet - his collar that they had kept and sent to me. I have Noah's collar and brush - it still has some of his fur in it and he went in November 2009. All his stuffed toys are in his basket in a garbage bag in a cupboard in the garage. I have not yet gone through them. There has been too much happen in the last year for me to even think about that. This summer, I will do so.

I have pictures of Hamish and Noah on the hutch of my computer desk where I can see them every day. I miss them, and even now tears come when I think about them.

Emma (whose name means comfort) has helped in the healing process for us. Liam is helping too in his own special way.

Take the time you need to grieve. Weep all the tears you have to and there are days there will be many. Handle what you have of Annabelle's to get you through it. When the time is right and you are ready, you will find another one to love and be loved by. Take care. Know that we care about you and understand fully what you are going through for we have been there at least once, all of us.

It's a beautiful tribute to Anna Belle. She was such a pretty and happy puppy. Thank you for sharing her memory with us.

Keep looking at the rescues... I like petfinder.com. When the right dog needs your help you will know. Sometimes we hear about rescues here on SheltieForums too. You also might want to go to your local shelter to help some other dogs in need. A friend of mine did that for a year before she found her dog.

Good luck. Buffy sends her love. :)

Awww...Beth.

My heart is breaking for you. I hope that another Sheltie needing some love comes your way and comforts your heart, soon.

Beautiful tribute, thanks for sharing. Thoughts and prayers are with you, hang in there. She's watching over you and sending you love to heal.
