AnnaBelle

There will definitely be an empty spot on the bed, and in your heart, but please try to think of her running free, free of pain and seizures, sporting that endearing Sheltie smile! And I bet she's even gone from smiling to laughing! We will all be thinking of you, so please don't feel alone. The great thing about this forum is that you know so many others have shared your pain, and you're surrounded by caring thoughts and well wishes.

AnnaBelle is home free. Now, just take care of yourself! Hugs to you!

Hurting tonight

So many pretty sheltie pics on the replies....

I am having a tough time. I am second guessing my decision. I am wondering if it was too soon, and I should have waited...I am thinking terrible thoughts,.. I felt so strong today, I was confident I had done the right thing. My vet agreed it was time. And now I am upset and missing her terribly. She was sick...she was having little seizures every three or four minutes today, and falling down often with the bigger ones. I wonder if they upset me more than her. Maybe her crying was a reaction to my stress....we were very bonded. When I ate, she ate. When I yawned, she yawned. When I stretched, she stretched. She slept when I slept, she laid on my foot when I was at the computer.

It is normal that you are second guessing your decision; but please don't second guess yourself. Right now it is bed time and you are feeling lonely without your precious love next to you; this is normal. I do not know you but I know the pain and second guessing with having to make that decision for one of my fur babes yrs ago and it is difficult.

I beat myself up for a long time; but I also knew she was in such bad health and suffering that it would have been selfish of me to want to keep her with me suffering rather than loving her so much and letting go so she would not be suffering any longer.

Allow yourself the time to grieve as this is an important step through the process of loss with any loved one; even our fur friends because they ARE family. But also know that you made the right decision truly due to the great passion and love you had for her.

I know you feel alone (physically)...but please know you are NOT alone; you have many people here that support you and that you can reach out to. As I said, we do not know one another, but if you need to talk please PM me and you can call me...no matter the time of night; I am a night owl!

I will be praying you find the peace and strength that is there for you; reach out and find it...you will find such comfort and comfort knowing she is truly happy and well now.

God Bless!

I sympathize with you on the rough decision. After 14 years of best friend I am sure you feel terrible despite doing the right thing. I was out west when my last dog Dow passed and part of me feels bad I wasn't there and another part feels relieved (I know he had 100% of his needs in the end). Try to remember the great times and one day who knows there might be another puppy that needs a pal

I am so sorry... to let one go is tough choice.... Belle knows she has and always will have part of your heart... and when time is right there will be another smiling sheltie face waiting to become your snuggling buddy... Belle will take care of it, I am sure...

I am so sorry for your loss. Your comfort must be to know that your love is running young, free and without illness at Rainbow Bridge. Your loss is hard to bear, but I know the tears that I am shedding now are for AnnaBelle but also for myself and my beloved Jess who died two years ago.. I am so grateful for digital photos - we can have so many more wonderful memories to see and remember in the future. My deepest thoughts are with you.

David

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. AnnaBelle is watching over you and sending you love from the bridge to help you to heal. It's the hardest thing to do, but the last thing we can do for our furry faces on this earth. Feel her love in your heart. She is running free at the bridge no pain, no seizures and is smiling down at you.

I hope this isn't being too dramatic, but I cannot imagine hurting more than I have hurt the past few hours. I don't know how long this aching, sea sick feeling will last, but I am panicked and hysterical. I called a good friend,,, she is coming over shortly...I am trying to picture Anna being free and happy, her big smile beaming....but all I can think of her is leaning into me and my arms when she left. My arms ache. I just need to vent a bit. Thank you for listening.
