Ooh, I think I remember this from a human doxy perscription! Doxycycline is commonly used for Lyme disease, so there's a decent chance that our North American Shelties will be on it at some point in their lives. Thank you for the reminder!

You can still provide probiotic support with the capsules, though. :yes:

Yes! Definitely still use a probiotic, but do not use one in a dairy form. I used the Vibrant Pets Show Dog Formula for Chloe while she was on the Lyme and she did not have any GI upset from the Doxy.
 
pro biotics

Good 411 out there to rely upon by you. I especially will get him pro biotic pills that were discussed since he hates the powdered form the vet got him.

Seamus is on a special Dr. Dodds diet for his compromised liver and gall bladder which is another reason for no dairy.

He is at the vet today, just to check on his gums which are paler than they should be. He is my little trooper.
