I am looking for a good conditioner that I can use on my puppy to help with her hair. Right now I am only using a shampoo. She looks cute but I wanted to use a conditioner.

I like espree luxury remosterizer
it smells like coconut, its all natural, and lasts a very long time (dilutes 32 parts water to 1 part shampoo. Or you can use it full strength. It is what we use at the dog grooming shop that I work at. All of our clients love how it makes their doggies feel!

I use multiple products.

I'm a big fan of Chris Christensen, Ice on Ice. But I also recently discovered a product called Naked Care (just google it). I used it today - for the first time really - and Indy's coat is so incredibly soft, I cannot imagine why I did not use it before. As a Tri, his coat tends to be a little more coarse than Bacca's. Now I run my hands down his coat and he feels great!

Of course, this was a mix of CC Show Offi, CC Ice on Ice and Naked Care. And about 1 hour of brushing. All in combo got all the mats out of his butt and ears. So I'm not sure which product was the miracle.

I like the oatmeal conditioners (I use aloveen but I think that is only Australian) and of course the plush puppy products. On Tully I just use the conditioning shampoo and that is enough for her soft coat.

I'm with Barb....love the Chris C. products but for everyday they are a tad pricey. For routine bathing we use Coat Handler, which you can get from Cherrybrook, the Show Dog site, or even Amazon online.

What is nice is that you can dilute it 15-1 so it lasts. We take an empty water bottle, squirt some conditioner in it, fill with water and shake, and pour it over the dog at the end of the bath. A quick rinse and you're done.

Coat Handler is good! For really dry fur I don't dilute it much. Les Pooch's conditioner smells divine and also softens fur.

I love Ice on Ice too (thanks BarbV!) and use it before we go out into the sun especially coz of the sunscreen.

Then there is Silk Spirits (also Chris Christensen) which smells absolutely lovely (I like my dog to smell nice) and leaves it soft with a subtle sheen. It also works on human hair! My hair feels less like hay now.

Gee, thanks -- you guys made me go spend all this money at Chris C's!

Oh, we can help you spend your money in many, many ways! Just wait, Xmas is coming and soon we'll all be posting all the Sheltie trinkets that you can buy!

I really, really want a Sheltie throw (with a photo of my pups) this year!
