Anyone using Revolution?

Dermisil and/or Revolution for Scabies

Has anyone had any experience using the product Dermisil or Revolution for treating scabies? If so, did it work and was it safe? Did your sheltie have any reactions to either of these products? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I have been using Advantage on my sheltie for ticks and fleas for my sheltie for many years and last year it stopped working for ticks. My vet said to buy a tick collar for those months when ticks are a problem and that seems to work but I am wondering about using Revolution for Summer. I bought some for the cat but have not applied it as yet. My question about Revolution is that I don't know what kind of medicine it uses to prevent heartworms. I have been using Inteceptor instead of Heartguard because of the problems that some collies and shelties have with the ingredient in Heartguard and I would not want to use Revolution if it contains the Heartguard ingredient. Does anyone use Revolution for their sheltie? I really think it would be easier to just apply one medication instead of giving two plus the tick collar but don't want to endanger Summer's health. TIA.

I've used it on the pups here all alst summer, and had terrific luck with it!

And from Pfizers MSDS:

Dogs:
Revolution kills adult fleas and prevents flea eggs from hatching for one month and is indicated for the prevention and control of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis), prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis, and the treatment and control of ear mite (Otodectes cynotis) infestations. Revolution also is indicated for the treatment and control of sarcoptic mange (Sarcoptes scabiei) and for the control of tick infestations due to Dermacentor variabilis.

Dermacentor variabilis is the American Dog Tick. So this does not protect against Lyme carrying deer ticks.

This is true. Mally "was" on Revolution when he was younger. We used to walk him a lot over at the forest preserve near our home. He did get Lyme Disease and we think it was from a Lyme carrying deer tick. Did not know at the time, Revolution was not doing what we needed it to do. Mally now is on Frontline Plus for fleas and ticks (no problems) and on HeartGuard for heartworm protection (no problems). I spread them out, 15 days apart. Mally is good to go now!
