An answer from dasher kemmer is "NO"
He just sinks. I had to keep a hold of him in our pool. He does have a life jacket. All of our dogs do. He doesn't even want to paddle. Maybe he should have been introduced to water (loves a bath) when he was a pup. He just loves running through a sprinkler and playing in the hose water.
